Directions

We are about 4m South of the A303. The following map options should help you find us.

Be warned!

Most online maps / directions (and probably GPS too) can be a little confusing close to the Church and town centre.

No entry

If you are approaching the town from the North, at the roundabout do not take the left fork past the parade of shops for Queen Street but the right fork onto Le Neuborg Way. (Queen Street is "no entry" from the North but most maps don't know this!) Then* take the next left turn (signposted "town centre") - the maps show cross roads but it does not appear like this (there is no way into Turner's lane, on the right).

* - decide where you want to park first - depending on your choice you may wish to carry on here.

Deadends

You cannot turn into "The Square" from Le Neuborg Way, this is a dead end (unknown to most maps).

(Deadends are marked on the detailed map with a brown line, but if you expand the Google map to its maximum you can see the deadends more clearly)

click on icons to see what they show - zooming in will make this easier (click the + on the map; in the top left corner)

You can zoom in (+) and out (-) and you can use the arrows to move around (controls in top left corner) but for the latter "dragging" (left click and hold and move your mouse) may be easier. But to help you here are a few views you may find useful:

How much you see will of course depend on your browser size but the above should work for most browsers.

Paper maps

We are on the following Ordnance Survey maps:

  • Landranger (1:50 000 scale) - 183
  • Explorer (1:25 000 scale) - 129

n.b. We are in the North East corner of the Explorer map, so if you intend walking or cycling around the Gillingham area you may well need maps 118 (to the East including Shaftesbury) and / or 142 (to the North West - including Stourhead) and 143 (to the North East - including White Sheet Hill and Mere Down).
