The Annual Meetings

The Annual Parish Meeting followed by
The Annual Parochial Church Meeting

These two separate meetings will take place on Tuesday 21st April in the Vicarage School Room commencing at 7.30pm. At the Annual Parish Meeting churchwardens are elected for the coming year and the people entitled to vote in this election are anyone on the electoral roll of the parish church and anyone who lives in the parish and whose names are on the register of local government electors. Nominations are required for these two posts.

At the Annual Parochial Church Meeting only those people who are on the church electoral roll can attend and take part in elections – it is not a public meeting. It is an important meeting for church members, who have the opportunity to elect members to the Parochial Church Council and to ask questions about church finances, the state of the church building and any other matter of concern to the parish. This year, because of the three year rule, there are five (5) vacancies to fill on the PCC and one (1) further vacancy on Deanery Synod which also gives membership of the PCC. For PCC membership you must have been on the church electoral roll for at least 6 months. Nomination forms are available for people to be proposed for both PCC and Deanery Synod.

From the 5th April all nomination forms will be available in church and in the Parish Office and a box for posting nominations will also be placed in church. Nominations must be received before the start of the meetings. In all cases there will be an election if there are more nominations than vacancies.

It needs to be stressed that it is most important to fill all vacancies, especially during the "interregnum".
